Coca-Cola, Take 2 Interactive and Facebook Mash-Up

With great power comes great responsibility.. I decided to do a mash-up highlighting the darker elements of big business power with the 3 prescribed clients. Although being a customer of all these companies at some stage, they are exempt from issue or responsibility.

Facebook                                    Coca-Cola                                Take 2 Interactive

"Start-up apocalypse." Of the 55 billion servings of all kinds of beverages drunk each day (other than water), 1.7 billion are Coca-Cola trademarked/licensed drinks. Take-two interactive software, Inc. is a major American publisher, developer, and distributor of video games and video game peripherals. It didn't take long after Facebook's IPO face-plant for many companies to abandon their dreams of going public. Coke makes so many different beverages that if you drank one per day, it would take you over 9 years to try them all. "Some people thought the (Facebook) IPO would jump-start the IPO market," says Richard Peterson of S&P Capital IQ. "But it's caused just the reverse." The Coca-Cola brand is worth an estimated $74 billion: more than Budweiser, Pepsi, Starbucks and Red Bull combined At the annual meeting on March 29, 2007, Take-Two investors ousted five of six board members."It boggles my mind that the IPO of the century turned out so badly," Coca-Cola's $35.1 billion in revenue makes it the 84th largest economy in the world, just ahead of Costa Rica "If you told me (Facebook) would open at $38 and now be at $28 (on June 6), I would have said you were nuts. It definitely hurt the perception of our whole industry." If you stacked up Coke's 2.8 million vending machines, they would take up 150.2 million cubic feet of space. In February 2007 Ryan Brant pleaded guilty to falsifying business records. He faced up to four years in prison and received a lighter sentence by agreeing to cooperate in a plea agreement to cooperate with prosecutors. Just 11 companies in May filed plans to go public, down 66% from May 2011 and the lowest level of activity in the month of May since 2009. There are 33 non-alcoholic brands that generate over $1 billion in revenue. Coca-Cola owns a whopping 15 of them. Facebook shares were flat on their first day of trading. Around the world, the average person consumes a Coke product every four days. In March 2007, Take-Two filed a lawsuit against Jack Thompson, to prevent him from filing a public nuisance complaint inFlorida court as he did with Bully. The nosebleed valuation of Facebook was so soundly rejected. On average, Mexicans drink 665 servings of Coke products each year."They're doing something right with $4 billion in revenue (in 2011), and they're in good position to build targeted ads," Coke uses 300,000 tons of aluminium for its cans every year just for its US operations. That's equal to 17.4% of what the entire US aluminum industry produces. In May 2007, the UFC filed a lawsuit against the company over the video game they created for the organization. Because Facebook is so rich in demographic data on millions of people, it could unleash billions of dollars in ads for advertisers that target what consumers say and whom they follow, 10 minutes: 10 teaspoons of sugar hit your system. (100% of your recommended daily intake.) You don’t immediately vomit from the overwhelming sweetness because phosphoric acid cuts the flavor allowing you to keep it down."It is the largest Internet site in the world, with a strong global reach," 20 minutes: First effect of coca cola on your body. Your blood sugar spikes, causing an insulin burst. Your liver responds to this by turning any sugar it can get its hands on into fat. In 2005, Take-Two began a host of acquisitions, spending more than US$80 million buying game developers. "A blowout IPO would have set a better mood, yes," but the opportunity for Facebook to capitalize on its audience "is huge," 40 minutes: Caffeine absorption is complete. Your pupils dialate, your blood pressure rises, as a response your livers dumps more sugar into your bloodstream.  it's all about Facebook's customer base. Your body ups your dopamine production stimulating the pleasure centers of your brain. February 2008, rival game company Electronic Arts (EA) made a US$25 per share  Unique visitors to the site in April were 158 million, up 5% from a year ago, the lowest growth rate since 2008. Compounded by high doses of sugar and artificial sweeteners also increasing the urinary excretion of calcium. Now assured that you’ll evacuate the bonded calcium, magnesium and zinc that was headed to your bones as well as sodium, electrolyte and water. EA announced that they decided to let the US$2 billion offer to buy Take-Two expire. In September 2009, following a lawsuit, Take-Two Interactive were forced to pay US$20 million settlement.
